 DESCRIPTION:

Embracing the rich tradition of Filipino Catholicism, the CCP is delighted to host the Simbang Gabi for the 18th consecutive year. While the CCP Main Building (Tanghalang Pambansa) undergoes rehabilitation, this cherished tradition will find a new home in the open-air setting of the CCP Liwasang Kalikasan.

From December 16 to 24, 2023, join us for the nine dawn masses (Misa de Gallo) at 5:00 AM, culminating in the Christmas Eve Mass (Misa de Aguinaldo) at 8:00 PM. In previous years, we’ve had 800 attendees at dawn masses and nearly 1,200 patrons at the Christmas Eve Mass, with thousands more via livestream on the CCP Facebook page.

Led by Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, SSP, the Christmas Eve Mass promises a spiritual experience with performances by the reno wned Philippine Madrigal Singers (Madz) and soprano-theater actress Katrine Sunga, accompanied by the Manila Symphony Orchestra. A captivating light and sound show illuminating the CCP Façade, featuring Madz songs and an excerpt from the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group’s Panunuluyan, adds to the festive atmosphere.

To continue our regional partnerships and reach out to Filipinos and other Catholics from across the archipelago and around the world, we will also be featuring Anticipated Masses of Partner Parishes from all over the archipelago through online streaming. Join us in celebrating the spirit of Simbang Gabi, uniting hearts across distances and embracing the true essence of Christmas.
