DESCRIPTION:

“Wondrous Woodwinds” is the last in the series of shows in the 2023 Out-of-the-Box Season at the CCP Blackbox Theater. Featuring the often-overlooked and less highlighted woodwind section of the symphonic orchestra, this special concert showcases the versatility of the ensemble and its capability to concertize on its own, or to accompany dance or vocal soloists.

Featured performers include Frenvee Andra (Bassoon), John Peter Bautista (Oboe), Ernani Pascual (French Horn), Marie Poblete (Flute), and Ariel Sta. Ana (Clarinet). The program promises to be a unique concert showcasing a woodwinds playlist that includes Bach to the Beatles, Caccini to Cuenco, Cayabyab and San Pedro, Manila Sound of the 70’s OPM, with a sprinkling of other classics, here and there, and Taylor Swift!

Lending performance support are percussionist Aimee Dela Cruz, cross-over soprano vocalist Lara Maigue, and musical theater triple threat Gian Magdangal, and dancer Bianca Manalo. Stage Direction by Ariel S.R. Yonzon.
