DESCRIPTION:
FIGARO! FIGARO!!, the CCP OUT-OF-THE-BOX Series’ second offering is a back-to-back presentation of abridged versions of Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. The show features Bianca Camille L. Aguila, Roxy Aldiosa, Diego Aranda, Angeli Benipayo, Ruzzel Clemeno, Nerissa De Juan, Roby Malubay, Nomher Nival, Noel Rayos, Jonathan Tadioan and Floyd Tena.
Opera, despite its reputation, is one of the most fun and enjoyable art forms. This production, though it may not necessarily be what opera lovers would expect, will be a fun and enjoyable evening out and will hopefully convert new audiences to the music of Mozart and Rossini. In FIGARO! FIGARO!!, abridged versions of the two operas are translated and sung in Filipino, to further increase understanding and appreciation of these classical masterworks. Filipino translation and lighting design are by Dennis Marasigan, with Set Design by Ohm David, Costume Design by Raqs Regalado, Sound Design by TJ Ramos, Musical Direction by Farley Asuncion, and Stage Direction by Jaime del Mundo.
