Beyond Shelter: Focus on Women Architects

This lecture program and pocket exhibition aims to reflect on the identity of Philippine Architecture through heritage structures, dwellings, and landscape and the position of women architects in the field. Its objectives include: to reflect on Philippine architecture through the practices and advocacies of women architects; to generate discourse by engaging the students to the topic of identity of Philippine Architecture through heritage structures, dwellings, and landscape; to locate the position of women architect in the abovementioned discourse; and to survey women practitioners in the field of Philippine architecture, with focus on excellence and trailblazers. With this initial program with CSB-SDA, the objective is to strengthen a visible and active architecture programming, establish relationships with academic institutions, and forward understudies and underwritten practices and practitioners.
