ABOUT THE PHILIPPINE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA:

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra is the country’s leading orchestra and considered as one of the top musical ensembles in the Asia-Pacific region. Established in 1973 primarily as the CCP Philharmonic Orchestra, it was intended to be the Center’s premier resident company that features both national and international repertoire in its performances. It was later on regrouped through the efforts of former First Lady Imelda R. Marcos together with then Maestro Oscar C.  Yatco.  The PPO has collaborated and continues to work with renowned Filipino and foreign artists either as soloists or as  conductors.  The PPO continues to promote music appreciation to Filipinos through its outreach concerts and workshops to the different regions of the archipelago. The PPO is headed by its new Music Director and Principal Conductor, Maestro Grzegorz Nowak.
