PRESS RELEASE
December 1, 2022
SINGER-actor Poppert Bernadas stages his solo concert entitled “Ang Musika, ang Teatro at Ako,” in the third and final series offering of the 2022 TRIPLE THREATS: THREE TENORS on December 21, 2022 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (CCP Black Box Theater) at 7:30pm. The previous concerts featured performing artists Markki Stroemm and Arman Ferrer.
The concert is an intimate evening of beautiful music, personally selected by the artist himself, from his vast repertoire of favorite songs from Broadway, West End, original Filipino musicals, and movies.
Bernadas is a complete and world-class performer with an unwavering passion for his craft as a singer and actor. He was handpicked by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab to be a part of the prestigious singing group the “Ryan Cayabyab Singers” or RCS who continues to tour successfully and perform in local music scenes and has been active from 2007 until now as an original member of the multi-awarded vocal group.
In 2014, Bernadas was cast as “Kenny” in “Rak of Aegis”, an iconic and longest-running, all-original Filipino musical of PETA. He continued to participate in a variety of works, including “Magsimula Ka!”, “LORENZO the Musical”, “Ang Huling Lagda ni Apolinario Mabini”, “GodSpell”, “Spoliarium”, “Marawi The Musicale”, and Season 7 of “Rak of Aegis” where he reprised his original role. He launched his acting career in the ABS-CBN Primetime Teleserye “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” as he played the character of “Kanor”, in the first season and “Rio” in the following season of the same teleserye. He joined the “Ateam” management group last year, which is co-managed by Lauren Dyogi of Star Magic and Ogie Alcasid of OPM. His two original songs, “Payakap Inay” and “Mama ko” were featured in “Maalaala Mo” last year. A dedication song for his late mother was his first collaboration with Maestro Ryan Cayabyab.
Triple Threats is a series of solo concerts featuring the stalwarts of Philippine Musical Theater. Dubbed as a series of “concept concerts”, the narrative of the performance is dictated by the song choices. The series is a rare opportunity for the audience to see a different facet of the acclaimed theater artist being featured. The definition of a “triple threat” is someone in a particular field who exhibits the three skills that are necessary to excel – can act, can sing, and can dance.
