POSITION/TITLE: Senior Culture and Arts Officer; SG-18; Item # 133

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

 

Education :  Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job

Experience :  2 year of relevant experience

Training :  8 hours of relevant training

Eligibility :  MC 11 s. 96 Cat. II *

*(Civil Service Eligibility obtained by completing one year of Very Satisfactory service under temporary status)

 

PREFERENCES:

 

  1. Degree in Arts Management, Arts Studies, Performing Arts, Creative Writing, Literature or Communications.

  2. At least 2 years experience relevant in arts and culture, and project management.

  3. At least 8 hours relevant training/workshop on stage management and/or events management.

  4. With knowledge in training program management and Philippine arts and culture.

  5. Proficient in oral and written communication skills, people skills, customer service, planning and organization, problem solving and decision making, time management, and arts management skills.

  6. Creative and innovative, with attention to details, and knows how to multi-task.

 

COMPETENCIES:

 

Advanced: Leads the preparation and implementation of artist training program

 

Intermediate: Applies computer skills in work using MS Office applications

 

Intermediate: Effectively delivers messages that require some planning for the method used and the possible reception to the message

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Artist Training Program Implementation

 

The ability to design, develop and implement a training program for the performing artists belonging to a specific art form in the advanced and/or professional level (e.g. masterclasses for artists, competitions for artists, choral singing workshops and the like).

 

  1. Determines the training level necessary for performing artists to get into higher/highest level of artistic competence.

  2. Conceptualizes and designs the artist training program together with the external experts based on training needs of the target participants.

  3. Provides artistic inputs in connection with the implementation of the program.

  4. Network with artists and cultural workers regarding planning and implementation of the program.

  5. Serves as resource person of the program, has knowledge of at least one artistic skill in the performing arts.

  6. Justifies training design to artistic management.

  7. Writes project proposal for funding.

For Nos. 3, 4, 5 & 6 a review of the existing credentials of internal applicants will be done in coordination with the Human Resource Services Division.
