FESTIVAL COMPONENTS:

The 21st edition of the Virgin Labfest embraces the theme Hubo’t Hubad, celebrating fearless Filipino storytelling through raw and revealing narratives. Led by dynamic festival directors Marco Viaña and Toni Go-Yadao, the festival features 12 new one-act plays by both emerging and returning playwrights. This year’s edition explores identity, memory, vulnerability, and the human experience while continuing VLF’s tradition of supporting untried, untested, and unstaged works. VLF XXI is co-presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Manila-based playwrights group Writer’s Bloc, Inc., and CCP’s resident theater company Tanghalang Pilipino.

FESTIVAL COMPONENTS: 

1. Featured Works – composed of 12 new one-act plays programmed into 4 sets of 3 plays, plus one set of 3 “revisited” plays.
2. Staged Readings – stripped-down reading performances of selected scripts from the VLF XXI submissions.
3. Theater Talks – a forum series on creative and production processes in theatre and performance. Topics include Scenic Design, Community Theater, and Improv: Theater on the Spot.
4. Playwrights Fair – conversations with playwrights curated by award-winning writer Rody Vera.
5. VLF Writing Fellowship Program – a two-week mentorship program on the study and practice of dramatic writing for the stage under the mentorship of award-winning playwright Glenn Sevilla Mas and direction by CCP Artistic Director Dennis Marasigan. 
6. Special Staged Readings – Reading performances of works from the diaspora and the showcase from the VLF Writing Fellowship Workshop

Note: For shows with fully committed or SOLD OUT tickets, additional seats may be released 15 minutes before showtime if festival pass holders fail to arrive.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

In line with CSC guidelines, CCP policy, and national directives on energy conservation protocols, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is currently implementing a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement.

Box Office services will be available on-site only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This schedule applies to over-the-counter ticket sales, reservations, and other Box Office transactions.

Tickets may also be purchased conveniently online via TicketWorld on days when the Box Office is closed, while festival passes may be purchased online via Google Forms.

Please note that Monday remains a non-working day for all CCP personnel. This policy is effective until further notice. We encourage the public to plan their transactions accordingly.
