Set in the beautiful backdrop of sunset in the mountains, Sunsets at Makiling is one of the CCP’s flagship outreach programs in the arts that bring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) to audiences in Los Baños and other cities and towns within the vicinity of Laguna for a rare experience of live orchestral music.  This year, the concert features light classical masterworks as well as “pops” arranged for the symphony orchestra. Sunsets at Makiling also features special guest artists Antonio Jesus Quilloy on saxophone and soprano Pauline Therese Arejola for an evening filled with beautiful music and inspiring performances, under the baton of Maestro Herminigildo Ranera.

This concert is part of the CCP Office of the President’s outreach program that aims to cultivate and enhance public interest in and appreciation for arts and culture, and bring the arts closer to the masses, especially in the regions.
