For its 21st edition, the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival embarks on a new journey with the theme “Cinemalaya 21: Layag sa Alon, Hangin, at Unos.” Showcasing 10 full-length and 10 short films in competition, this year’s festival celebrates the creativity and resilience of Filipino filmmakers who continue to navigate and reshape the evolving currents of Philippine cinema. Committed to being a beacon of exceptional visual storytelling, Cinemalaya amplifies diverse voices and daring visions that boldly sail beyond the mainstream.

Expanding its reach, Cinemalaya partners with Red Carpet Cinemas by Shangri-La Plaza, joining Ayala Malls and Gateway Cineplex as key venues. Audiences can also experience the 37th Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video, alongside a rich lineup of sections that honor independent voices and fresh perspectives.
