DESCRIPTION:
The CCP OUT-OF-THE-BOX series opens with ISANG GABI NG SARSUWELA, an evening of sarsuwela music featuring excerpts from classic sarsuwelas, as well as modern and contemporary works. Showstopping musical numbers from Dalagang Bukid, Paglipas ng Dilim, Walang Sugat, Sa Bunganga ng Pating, Ang Palasyo ni Valentin, Ang Palabas Bukas, Pilipinas Circa 1907, and Hibik at Himagsik Nina Victoria Lactaw will be performed with live music for the piano, cello, and guitar. The show features crossover musical theater artists such as Nenen Espina, Franco Laurel, Ayen Munji-Laurel, Reuben Laurente, Lorenz Martinez, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez, Jonathan Tadioan, and Karylle Tatlonghari. Musical Direction by Joed Balsamo. Stage Direction by Dennis Marasigan.
