DESCRIPTION:

The SPECIAL CONCERT SERIES features outstanding young Filipino artists in solo concerts. It highlights local and international prize winners in vocal and instrumental music and artists with performing careers abroad. The program seeks to get the general public and the youth to watch and appreciate classical music and be exposed to dynamic young Filipino artists who are making a mark on the classical music scene.

 

 

ABOUT BIANCA CAMILLE LOPEZ:

A graduate of the Philippine High School for the Arts in Mt. Makiling, Los Banos, Laguna, Bianca Camille Lopez now holds a diploma in creative and performing musical arts major in Voice at the University of the Philippines College of Music under Prof. Cecilia Valena. She was a member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers for nine years starting in 2007 when they won the European Grand Prix in Arezzo, Italy until August 2015. To date, she has done numerous concerts with the Madz throughout Europe, North and South America, and to different parts of Asia and the Philippines.

 

In the field of opera, she played the title role in Antonin Dvorak's Rusalka held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and at the Abelardo Hall of the UP College of Music in September 2014. She also played Paz, the wife of Juan Luna in the most recent production of Spoliarium, an opera in three acts with libretto by Fides Cuyugan Asencio, music by Ryan Cayabyab, and directed by Anton Juan at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center in Manhattan, New York in October 2015. She sings classical-pop crossover songs with fellow Philippine High School for the Arts batch mate Twinkle Prietos. Together they form the duo The Nightingales which was launched in a concert at the Theater in Solaire on November 29, 2015.

 

Bianca Camille Lopez will give  a Workshop for soprano and alto choir members on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (LittleTheater)  from 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon.
