Celebrating 25 years of musical excellence and nation building, the UPMC brings you “Argentum: The UP Manila Chorale’s 25th Anniversary Concert.” The kick-off concert will open a year-long celebration in which the UPCM returns to its humble beginnings through memories shared with different generations of its members as they showcase beloved classic tunes along with new and contemporary pieces by Ēriks Esěnvalds, Paweł Łukaszewski and Josefino Toledo. The concert also features the world premiere performance of Nilo Alcala’s Gloria and Eudenice Palaruan’s Avinu (Our Father), and many other local and international composers in a dynamic repertoire. The grand concert will also mark the beginning of many projects and events directed towards helping, educating, and shaping our communities, in the hopes of inspiring people to take part in uniting the Filipino nation through music.
With Emmanuel P. De Leon Jr., the group’s conductor, and Joey Gianan Vargas, the director of this grand production, at the helm, this concert will surely show audiences how far the UP Manila Chorale has gone in terms of musical prowess and making their mark, not only in the musical world, but also in the lives of the Filipino community.
