DESCRIPTION:

The Cultural Center of the Philippines celebrates the 34th National Children’s Book Day in various venues at the CCP. The event, entitled “Laging Bago ang Mundong Libro” is also led by the Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY), supported by Animation Council of the Philippines, and Anvil Publishing.

 

Awarding Ceremony of PBBY-Salanga and Alcala Prize Winners

The CCP Vice President, Chris Millado, will deliver the opening remarks. He will be followed by the introduction of the PBBY officers and members, as well as the introduction of Ms. Pepper Roxas, the keynote speaker Dr. Luis Gatmaitan will present new books for children from Philippine publishers. Thereafter, the awarding of PBBY-Salanga and PBBY-Alcala winners will commence. An excerpt from the PBBY-Salanga winning work will be read by Rey Bufi. The PBBY-Alcala Art Exhibit will be opened to the public and will be on display until July 25, 2017.

 

Duglit and Oli Impan Film Showing

Dr. Luis Gatmaitan’s Duglit is a film about a red blood cell that aims to see the outside world. Dok Luis will be present during the film showing. Alberto Florentino’s Oli Impan is an animation from the ACPI. These films will be screened at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde (CCP Dream Theater) at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

 

My CCP Story launch

The kids will be given a copy of My CCP Story, a publication from CCP Arts Education Department. It features a CCP tour for kids (Arturo Luz painting at Little Theater Lobby, Tanghalang Manuel Conde with film showing, Sayaw sculpture at Promenade Manila Side, Main Gallery witharts activity, and the Library with creative writing activity.
