THE Cultural Center of the Philippines is now accepting entries to the 24th CCP Independent Film & Video Competition (Ika-24 Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video) to be held on November 20-23, 2012 at the CCP.
Entries must be submitted not later than 6:00pm, October 16, 2012 (Tuesday) at the CCP Media Arts Division Office (4th Floor, CCP Main Building).
Entries to the competition must be in DVD, MiniDV or digital data file formats for Video; and 16mm or 35mm format for Film. Competition categories are Short Feature/Narrative, Experimental, Documentary and Animation. All works submitted to the competition must be strictly independent works and not produced for commercial screening. School-based work (e.g. theses) may be submitted. Entries must not have been completed earlier than October 2011. Each participant may submit a maximum of three entries in each category.
Winners of the competition will be announced in the awards ceremony on November 23. All entries to the competition will be screened during the Festival week from November 20-23 at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde.
Cash prizes will be given to winners of the different categories (1st Prize,
P25,000; 2nd Prize- P15,000 and 3rd Prize, P10,000). Special Awards will be given for Best Regional Entry and Best Entry for/on/by Children. Recipients of the Special Awards will also be given cash prizes of P15,000 each. Honorable mentions may be awarded upon the jury’s discretion. Cash prizes are subject to standard government tax.
Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video (The CCP Independent Film & Video Competition) promotes Filipino independent filmmaking by giving recognition to the year’s most outstanding film and video artists. It is also the longest-running independent film and video competition in Asia.
